VAC, versatile attachment cell

VAC, versatile attachment cell
The necessity for a method to attach standard buckles for a PALs platform is obvious to me. So I’ve played with an idea to combine G-hook and T-shape adapter in one accessory unit. Sorry for crappy pics, as usual. Simply put, it is a wrapper around PALs loop, which is fastened with DTMF closure. For […]

Last year(s) I made some translations from English to Russian. I strongly believe that these materials are important and educating, so here is the list in the original language.   Emergency comms Redditnet Guide to Extreme EmComm by NS0S Emcomm AAR by ARFCOMer Planemaker   Monitoring Radio monitoring for the beginners From the beginning: communications monitoring […]

PCB, Pack Complementary Board – concept, prototype, thoughts
Had a boatload of things to take care of. Showing some beta-version.   Widely known pack inserts, or organisational boards, have variuous features, so I want to make one to be suited to my specific needs. I want to have a possibilities: hold A4 papers in the flat pocket attach modular pouches to the front […]

Velcro on PALs placement – quick and dirty

Velcro on PALs placement – quick and dirty
Sorry for long lack of posts, I’m still here and even reading the blogroll. I’ve seen at least two commercial solutions which put velcro surface over the PALs surface. Can’t believe it could happen. To make a single-cell wide three inches height velcro attachment point we need: strip of loop velcro 6 (six) inches long […]

Loop with tri-glide adapter for every pouch to be Matroskya pouch
Make every pouch 4 (four) PALs wide a Matroskya pouch! Just make a simple adapter and install it on soft clip: Filed under: Equipment Tagged: adapter, another's concept, attachment, modularity, PALs, pouch, tri-glide

Scalable body armor concepts – mine 2¢
Personal armor today become a subject of an intense hype. Speaking about coverage, let’s keep in mind mobility. Especially, pelvic area is a challenge to designer.  Old solutions are less desirable: Just because person in fight needs some more movements, than usually standing at the flat range. Even more recent designs (with dangler/hanger/lower accessory pouches, […]

One-piece soft clip – modelling

One-piece soft clip – modelling
Concept picture in previous post seemed unclear, so I made a paper model of one-piece soft PALs clip. As you can see, PALs configuration on the pouch (two-space-one-space-two) is rare to meet, but the idea easily suits the widely known config – two-space-two.Filed under: Equipment Tagged: attachment, clip, PALs, pouch, straps, work in progress

One-piece soft clip for PALs attachment

One-piece soft clip for PALs attachment
It (five inches long) is compatible with specific PALs setup on the pouch – two-space-two, commonly found on Maxped pouches and some other manufacturers. See illustration: Though, the longer version (7 inches) will be compatible with another PALs stup on the pouch, never found on any pouch: two-space-one-space-two. I’ll make some for testing purposes in […]

Update – above the waistline warbelt setup

Update – above the waistline warbelt setup
One is less reliable, two are more reliable. So – just run two straps on adapter to two D-rings on each side: To clarify it, I’m worrying more about reliability of clips on pouch, than the durability of D-rings.Filed under: Equipment Tagged: adapter, ammo pouch, belt, harness, load bearing, paracord, pouch, warbelt

Above the waistline warbelt setup

Above the waistline warbelt setup
Currently doing nothing but playing around some weird deviant concepts of loadouts. To make and old-school ammunition belt with modern modular pieces of gear. Single vulnerable D-ring can be replaced with adapter as Maxped D-pouch, but it increases overall cost of solution. Would be better to replace it with paracord loop or two.Filed under: Equipment […]
